• TONY JONES ENDS BRIEF RETIREMENT 
  MARCH 28, 2009 --- In a retirement that was almost as short as Mike Tyson’s 1988 91 second knockout of Michael Spinks, Tony Jones announced on Saturday morning that he will return to the seat of Mark Alexander’s silver #4 Sprint Car at tonight’s (March 28) USAC/CRA Sprint Car race at Perris Auto Speedway.
  
  The story started gaining momentum early in the week, but died and was revived several times. Friday night it looked like Jones would be back, but early Saturday morning the deal was done again. After a series of early morning phone calls, the 2000 Oval Nationals and 2007 USAC/CRA champion confirmed around 10:00 AM that he was indeed back. 
  
  “I talked it over with my family (wife and three children) and we all wanted to come back,” Jones said. “My dad (Hall of Famer Bubby Jones) will be excited, too.”
